From a small community-based organisation to a fully licensed NGO — 17 years of transforming lives.
When Kiunga Youth Bunge Initiative (KYBI) was founded in 2011 as a small community-based organisation on Kenya's coast, our founders dared to believe that young people in marginalised coastal communities could be architects of their own development.
Over seventeen years, that belief was proven right — in dialogue forums in Lamu, in fish landing sites in Kilifi, in pastoralist grazing committees in Garissa.
In 2022, we formally rebranded and re-registered as Action Life — a fully licensed NGO — reflecting our expanded mandate, professional infrastructure, and readiness to partner with the world's leading development investors.
